Sources: QR code structure, error correction levels, and the four-module quiet zone requirement come from Denso Wave, the Japanese company that invented the format in 1994 and still publishes its reference documentation. The format itself is an open standard, defined in ISO/IEC 18004, now in its fourth edition published August 2024, which specifies the symbol formats, dimensional characteristics, and error correction rules every compliant generator follows.
